About the Bestie Duo

Joanna (the bride) and Kaelin (the bestie) met at Drake University during their junior year while both going through the magazine journalism program. While they became friendly acquaintances (and worked on one really awesome story together for senior capstone), they didn’t become close until after they both graduated. Joanna got a job at bhg.com, then Kaelin was hired there a few months later (just a few months after she married super-cute Dave). Destiny hit them over the head and they became besties almost instantly!

They worked in close proximity for almost a year before Brad came on the scene. Brad’s best friend set Brad and Joanna up, but it almost didn’t happen due to Joanna’s “yeah, like THAT would ever work” attitude. Thank goodness for the besties (including Marie Elizabeth and Rachel, see all the besties to the left) who demanded she at least go to lunch to meet Brad.

The rest is history…
